I went up alone as a single female to tent camp. This was just the location I was hoping for. I felt very safe in a 'homey' environment. I felt tucked away from the main traffic area so it was more peaceful and serene than other camp spots I saw closer to towns and attractions. I awoke each morning to the quietness and wild turkeys walking around the grounds. The fully stocked kitchen and bathroom facilities were very very clean. I didn't use the washer dryer but other guests were impressed with these facilities offered free of charge. Nicole was so warm and friendly and made sure that I was feeling comfortable. I look forward to my next visit back to Country Charm!
This campground was a highlight for us on our cross country bicycle ride. Super nice hosts, beautiful country, terrific rates, and a wonderful community kitchen/living room. It was so nice, we stayed an extra day for my wife and son to enjoy a guided horseback trail ride, which they loved. Google maps currently lists their location incorrectly as in Pringle, SD. They are actually about 6 miles south of Pringle and (conveniently for cyclists riding the trail) just 1.8 miles west of the Michelson Rail Trail. Highly recommended!!!
My wife and I did the two-hour guided horseback tour. My wife is an experienced rider and appreciated that the tour was not the typical nose-to-tail ride where the horses automatically follow the one ahead of them. Experienced riders are given the opportunity to break from the group (while still following the group) and new riders are coached about posture and handling of the animals. It's as much about learning to ride as it is seeing the scenery (which is spectacular). I had never ridden before, but at the end of the tour, I felt I could handle a horse with no apprehension.
This is my grandparents place. It's p cool ive been going every other year since i was born. 11/10 would go again.
